Cornish Mumming by Kelvin I. Jones

April 9, 2014 k.jones Leave a Comment

A rare collection of Cornish mummer’s plays. Once widespread in Cornwall, the mumming play,
along with the tradition of ‘guising’, once performed in villages around Cornwall, largely
died out in the early 20″‘ Century and today is still seen only in survivals like the Hal An Tow at Helston and the Penzance Montol.
